Here are the basics:
The challenge is open to any CWFG member. Members should consider their skill level. If a member has not yet won the Al Gerding Novice Single Stone Competition, winning the Merle Reinikka Founder’s award would disqualify the entrant from entering any further instances of the Al Gerding Novice Single Stone Competition. The Al Girding might be a better place to start because you can choose the design you want to cut.
The design group strongly encourages interested faceters to join the challenge and to use this as a learning opportunity. If one doesn’t get the most points, then learning what can be improved and trying again next year is the way to go.
