A Call Out to All Members– We Need Faceted Stones

Great news! The date for the annual guild auction has been set: Saturday, September 21st at OMSI. If you haven’t been, you really must attend this fun evening, meeting people who will buy and set our gems into beautiful jewelry or distinguished collections.

To that end, we call on members to get stones cut for the auction, as it is a revenue source we depend on and it is our ‘show’ for the year. If you have checked out guild rough, please get started on those stones. If you don’t have any stone you want to donate, check out some rough to cut.

Gail Bumala will have rough available at the monthly meetings, for all levels of experience.
If you’re working on a stone and encounter any problems, don’t worry, just contact one of the more experienced members and you’ll find someone who can help you through it.

We need to have stones delivered for the auction by the first meeting in September, though sooner is better for planning purposes and photographing of the stones. Last year’s auction was a great success, so let’s build on that and really showcase the remarkable beauty of our craft.
